Notes for Jonathan D. DAVIS
Founder of Newark College, presently known as Delaware College.
Jonathan, was a man so eminent for learning and piety, that gave the
village of Shiloh, NJ its name in imitation "of the ark of God resting
at Shiloh". Previous that that time the place was called Cohansey
Corners.
