Notes for Peter GRUWELL

(c1740 - 1776), who enlisted on 17 January 1776 in Colonel John Haslet's Regiment in Dover. Peter's particular Company was composed of 90 Privates and was led by Captain Jonathan Caldwell. The Regiment muster roll of 8 October 1776 lists "Pvt. Peter Gruwell - Dead", and it is believed that Peter died at the Battle of Long Island.
