Notes for Charles Ross DARLINGTON

C. Ross Darlington Sr., 75, of Thorndale, a former supervisor at Lukens Steel in Coatesville, died of heart failure Friday after a lengthy illness at Main Line Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Malvern.

Mr. Darlington was born in Westwood and graduated from Coatesville High School in 1943. He went on to serve in the Navy in World War II in the South Pacific.

He spent 38 years at Lukens before retiring in 1982. He was supervisor of production control.

Mr. Darlington enjoyed all sports and was a charter and life member of the Westwood Fire Company, a former member of the Coatesville Country Club, and a member of the Lukens Veterans Guild. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Coatesville.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Doris A. Lamar Darlington; sons C. Ross Jr. and Robert F.; daughter Maryellen Winn; and five grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Wentz Funeral Home, 342 Chestnut St., Coatesville from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 to 10 a.m. tomorrow. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 80 S. 17th Ave., Coatesville.

Memorials in Mr. Darlington's honor may made to Our Lady of the Rosary Church or to Brandywine Hospital.
