Notes for Chandler P. ROSE

Chandler P. Rose, familiarly known as "Dr. Rose," died Saturday night about 11 o'clock at one of the Kocherspergers cottages at the advanced age of 88 years. He came to Seabreeze about 12 years ago, and for a season or two engaged in the gathering and sale of the palmetto berry, but age found him without any viable means of support except a small allowance which came to his young son, Clarence, from his mother's estate, which ceased when Clarence became of age about two years ago. And so sickness came with no means to tide him along. Mrs. Kochersperger and other neighbors looked after him for some time, and more recently the town and county have taken up the case. His only tie, as far as known, was his son, Clarence, who was with him and nursed him through his last illness.
Funeral services were held at three o'clock Sunday afternoon by Rev. H. E. Partridge, of Kingston, and the interment in the Elks' lot at Pinewood cemetery.
