Notes for Josephine M. IFFRIG
Josephine M. "Jo" Lewis, 74, of West Bradford, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Chester County Hospital. She was the beloved wife of C. Barry Lewis, sharing 49 years of marriage together.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of George Iffrig, Jr., of Wagontown, and the late Phyllis (nee Dando) Iffrig. Jo was a graduate of Conestoga High School, class of 1960. After high school, she was employed for 10 years by Upper Main Line Bank, which became Central Penn Bank, as secretary to the president.
Jo was a very active member of Grove United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Community Bible Study in Downingtown. Jo was a dedicated mother to her family and a wonderful wife to her husband. She will be deeply missed.
In addition to her husband and father, Jo is survived by her sons, Steven (Kristan) Lewis, of Birdsboro, PA, and Matt (Amanda) Lewis, of Northfield, MA; daughter, Wendy Lewis, of Coatesville; brothers, George, Robert, Francis, David, Michael, and Paul Iffrig; sisters, Phyllis Tipton, Susan Darnell, Dorothy Walton, and Dawn Marchini; and 5 grandchildren, Aaron, Jameson, Elena, Greta, and Evy Lewis. In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her brothers, William and Douglas Iffrig.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 25, at Grove United Methodist Church, 490 Boot Road, West Chester, PA 19380, where friends and family may call from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
