Mrs. Hibberd of Media Dies – Chester Times September 30, 1963
Mrs. Adele Hibberd, a member of one of Media's oldest families and the oldest living member of the Media Presbyterian Church, died Sunday at Bethesda House, 513 West Front St., Media She was 98
Mrs. Hibberd was the mother of Stanley T. Hibberd, Sr., of the Media real estate firm.
She lived with her son for many years following the death of her husband, William.
She was a member of the Media Presbyterian Church for 84 years. At one time she had been secretary of the Board of Foreign Missions at the church.
A former music teacher in the Media area, Mrs. Hibberd was active for many years in the auxiliary of the American Legion.
Mrs. Hibberd was born in Wallingford in 1865, the daughter of James C. and Jane Forrest Haswell.
In addition to her son, she is survived by six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Another son, Ernest, died in 1953.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. from Patterson Funeral Home, Baltimore Avenue and Monroe Street. There will be no viewing. Burial will be private at the Brandywine Baptist Church Cemetery in Chadds Ford.
