Notes for Geraldine Marie CLOUD

Geraldine Marie Tomlinson (Cloud), age 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 24, 2017. Born in Wilmington, Gerry was a resident of Wilmington until moving to Michigan in 2016. Gerry was the daughter of William H. Cloud, Sr. and Helen Johnson Cloud. She graduated from P.S. DuPont High School. She enjoyed teaching nursery school at Peninsula-McCabe Methodist Church before becoming a travel agent for American Express. She and her husband, John, enjoyed many wonderful trips while at this position. She was a teller at the Bank of Delaware and retired in 1982 to enjoy her grandchildren while they were young.
Gerry was predeceased by her parents, William H. Cloud, Sr. and Helen Johnson Cloud and her brother, William H. Cloud, Jr. She is survived by her husband, John, her sister Betty Manchester, her children John (Cindy), Helen (Scott), Grandchildren Brett (Abby), Stephen (April), Justin (Natalia), Katie (Brian) and Christopher. She very much enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren (Jared, Alexia, Kellan, Charlie, Gwen, Scarlett, Delaney and Heidi).
Until recently, Gerry and her husband Jack were very active members of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. They enjoyed many years of church fellowship making lifelong friends and memories. They loved to dance and enjoyed many Saturday night dances at the DuPont Country Club and Sunnybrook Ballroom in their younger years. They enjoyed many summer vacations in Ocean City, NJ and spent 19 summers at their home in Rehoboth Beach, DE.
The family would like to thank the staff of Westlake Legacy Campus and the Hospice staff that so tenderly cared for Gerry. Your thoughtfulness is very much appreciated.
Family and Friends are invited to her visitation on Friday, December 1, 2017, from 10:00-11:00am at the Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803, with service immediately following at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery.
