Notes for John W. MARSHALL
John W. Marshall, age 77, of Newtown Square, Pa. passed away Friday, February 5, 2016.
Born October 20, 1938 in Philadelphia to Marian Wickersham and Thomas Marshall. John graduated from Glen-Nor High School in Glenolden High School and attended University of Pennsylvania Wharton School.
John is a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Viet Nam Conflict.
He worked for Delaware County as an Assessor for over twenty-five years.
John was a homebody who enjoyed spending time with his family. He also was an Philadelphia Eagles Football fan.
He was an active parishioner with St. Anastasia Church, Newtown Square, he volunteered for over 30 years with the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St Laurence Church and also volunteered at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital as an Eucharist Minister and with meals on Wheels.
John is survived by his wife, Sheila (nee Lawley) Marshall, children: Marc Tregear, Meghan Marshall, Kerry Egan (Adam)
3 grandchildren, a great grandson and siblings: Virginia Roberts, Alice Burke, Jacqueline Simmonds and the late Thomas Marshall.
Family and friends may call 7:00 to 9:00 PM Wednesday in the Funeral Home of John Stretch, 236 E. Eagle Rd, Havertown and Thursday 9:30 to 10:15 AM in St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, Pa. 19073 followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Divine Providence Village Day Program, 10 Fatima Dr, Secane, Pa. 19018 Attn: Paul Holmes
