Notes for Charles L. QUAY

Charles L. Quay, 94, husband of Betty (Yarnall) Quay of Phoenixville, PA, died on Monday, August 16, 2010.

Born in Phoenixville, he was the Son of the late Robert and Ethel (Miller) Quay.

Charles was a graduate of Phoenixville High School.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II.

He was a machinist at the former Phoenix Steel Corp. and then retired from A.P. deSanno.

He was a member of the Baptist Church of Phoenixville, AARP of Phoenixville, Phoenixville Senior Center and F&AM Phoenix Lodge No. 75.

He was actively involved in youth sports, enjoyed bowling, and loved to travel.

On August 31, 2010, Mr. & Mrs. Quay would have celebrated 70 years of marriage.

Surviving are in additon to his wife are sons, Thomas Quay, husband of Diane of Chalfont, and Donald Quay, husband of Eileen of Perkasie; six grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Quay, and sister, Genevieve Gazillo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service in the Baptist Church of Phoenixville, Church and Gay Streets, Phoenixville, on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Brent D. Miller officiating.

Burial will be private in Morris Cemetery, Phoenixville. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 10 to 11 a.m.
