CAROLYN ‘CONNIE’ RITTER GROFF, 79 Carolyn “Connie” Ritter Groff, 79, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 4, 2015 following a 10 month cancer battle. Carolyn was born in 1936 in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania and grew up in Royersford, Pennsylvania. She is predeceased by her parents, George Ward Ritter and Carolyn T. (Wood) Ritter. Carolyn attended and graduated from Royersford High School in 1954 and married James Lowell Groff in 1956. Survivors include her daughters, Alison Bigbee and Ursula Higgins. Alison lives in Scottsdale, AZ with her husband, Bryant and children, James (22) and Sarah (20). Ursula lives in Marietta, GA with her husband, Steve and son John (11). Carolyn is also survived by her faithful Schnauzer companion, Otto. Carolyn, an oral surgery technician prior to retirement in the mid ‘90s, was loved dearly by family, friends and neighbors for her gracious and outgoing personality. Carolyn’s wishes included a private service to be held for family at Carolyn’s church, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Marietta shortly after her passing. A celebration of her life with family and friends will be held in October at Steve and Ursula’s home in Marietta. The date will be announced. In lieu of flowers, family would like to request donations to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation at cholangiocarcinoma.org to assist this organization in their mission to find a cure and improve the quality of life for those affected by biliary duct cancer. Schnauzer Love Rescue is Otto’s request for donations to help his friends in need at schnauzerloverescue.net where donations are accepted through their home page.
