Notes for Richard W. BOYD
Richard W. Boyd Sr. of Coatesville Richard W. “Flipper” Boyd, Sr., 83, of Coatesville, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at Brandywine Hospital. He was the longtime companion of Joan A. Gouldner. Born in Chadds Ford, he was the son of the late Wallace and Rosa Elizabeth Sprout Boyd. Throughout his career, Flipper worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator in Philadelphia. He was a very kind man and was always there to offer a helping hand. In addition to his companion, he is survived by his sons, Richard W. Boyd, Jr. and Bub Swisher (Laura); daughters, Cathy Samms and Kerri Stauffer (Jake) and by a brother Herbert Boyd. He was predeceased by a son, Joseph “Jody” Boyd; a brother, Harold Boyd and a sister Dorothy Broomall. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 12th at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown with a visitation from 10-11. Interment will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer.
