Notes for David Staples FOULKE

David Staples Foulke, formerly of Spring House David Staples Foulke died on July 3, 2015, in Rochester, New York; he was 82. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of Edward Foulke and Mary Staples Foulke (later, Mary S. Wright) of Ambler, and the brother of Edward Foulke and Hugh Foulke, David S. Foulke was educated at Germantown Friends School, Haverford College, and Temple University Law School. A long-time resident of Spring House, Pennsylvania, Mr. Foulke had lived in upstate New York for several years. An attorney and entrepreneur, Mr. Foulke traveled widely, visiting all fifty states and many foreign countries. A dog lover, skier, golfer, private pilot, and builder/restorer of vintage and modern aircraft, Mr. Foulke practiced yoga and was interested in human wellness and nutrition. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. With his former wife, Eleanor “Wickie” Foulke Skoluda (née Wright), Mr. Foulke was the father of Laura Wright Foulke, Susan Foulke Vorwerk, Ellen Wickersham Foulke, and Elisabeth Staples Foulke. He was also the grandfather of David Edward Vorwerk. He is survived by his daughters and grandson as well as Hugh and Nancy Foulke, Meredith and Adrian Geffert, Amalie Geffert, Olivia Foulke, Deborah Pelham, Curtis and Linda Wright, Edward Vorwerk, Allen Fleming, and an extended network of family, friends, and business associates. A memorial Meeting for Worship is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at ten o’clock in the morning, at the Upper Dublin Meeting House, 1506 Fort Washington Avenue, Ambler, Pennsylvania, 19002.
