Notes for Carol Hornblower HELMS

LIPPINCOTT CAROL HELMS, died peacefully on April 1, 2015, surrounded by her children. She was 87.
Mrs. Lippincott, whose late husband Barton H. Lippincott, was the Chairman of his family's publishing company, J. B. Lippincott Publishing Company, was born in New York, and grew up in Philadelphia. Together, the two, both previously married, shared an interest in contemporary art and particularly in sculpture.
Mrs. Lippincott was an accomplished ice dancer and enjoyed tennis and bridge. She worked as an assistant editor at the Philadelphia Bulletin in the early 1970s. She was also a talented artist who painted and worked in needlepoint and rug-hooking. She volunteered at the Chestnut Hill Hospital for many years.
She is survived by her children, Frances Earle Newbold (William), Elizabeth Earle Miller (Jerry), James Morris Earle; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grand-children; and step-daughters, Louise, Deborah, Frances, and Elizabeth Lippincott. She was predeceased by a son, Murray Earle, and by her sisters, Georgeanne Helms, Patricia Helms Horsey, and Joan Helms Hunter.
