Notes for Mildred DAVIS

Mildred D. Pyle of Exton Mildred D. Pyle, 97 of Exton, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Exton. She was the wife of the late Kenneth J. Pyle. Born Dec. 6, 1917 in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late G. Bradford Davis and Ada M. Staddon Davis. Mildred was a 1935 graduate of West Chester High School and Beacom College. Mildred started her working career as a bank teller for National Bank and later worked at several other banks in West Chester. She took time off to raise her children and then went back to work at Colonial Life Insurance Company as an office worker. She was an active member of the Baptist Church of West Chester. Mildred was a former member of the Eastern Star. She volunteered for over 25 years at the Chester County Hospital and enjoyed sewing, gardening and was an avid Scrabble player. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children, John B. Pyle of Lititz, Marsha P. Guie of Downingtown, and Robert K. Pyle of Katy, Texas; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Baptist Church of West Chester, 221 South High Street, West Chester, PA 19382; where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at the Grove Methodist Cemetery in West Chester.
