Notes for Samuel A. TREGO
Samuel A. Trego, 78, of Downingtown, formerly of Coatesville, died on Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at Brandywine Hospital following a short illness.
He was the husband of Joan M. Hoskins Trego, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.
Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Clarence and Henrietta Gottier Trego.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 with the 82nd Airborne Division.
Sam was employed as an auto technician for more than 40 years, having worked for Weaver Motors of Coatesville and Malcolm Wright Buick of Thorndale, retiring in 1998.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by a son, Michael S. Trego of Butler; a grandson, Matthew J. Trego, also of Butler; three children from a previous marriage; two brothers, John and James Trego, both of Coatesville; and two sisters, Margaret Curry of Coatesville and Henrietta McCreary of Gap.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, folllowed by interment in Fairview Cemetery in Coatesville.
