Daughter of John and Susan (nee Worrilow) KEENEN. Other siblings of Mattie's: James Charles KEENAN; Susanna KEENEN; Ann KEENAN RUSSELL; Benjamin Worrilow KEENAN; Winfield KEENEN; Willam Samuel KEENEN and Emma KEENEN REMMICK. Her paternal grandparents were James and Mary Ann (nee SHENEMAN) KEENAN. Her maternal grandparents were Benjamin and Ann (nee FARRA) WORRILOW.

Note: Mattie chose the spelling of KEENAN as her maiden name. Most of her siblings and her parents chose KEENEN.
