Notes for James Donald CONLIN

Conlin, James D., 82, of Stone Harbor, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Cape Regional Medical Center, Cape May Court House, NJ. He was born in Pawtucket, RI and lived in Stone Harbor for 39 years after moving there from Mercersburg, PA. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving in Germany and Eisenhower's Headquarters in France. He was a member of St. Paul's Church, where he was a lector, Eucharistic minister, and director of acolytes. Mr. Conlin received his Master's Degree in Education from Shippensburg University. He was the head of the math department and basketball coach at Mercersburg Academy. He was a teacher at Middle Township High School in Cape May Court House from 1970 to 1992. During that time, he served as head of the business department, basketball coach, and Senior Class Advisor. He also ran the English Exchange Student Program. He was head of the ushers at the Performing Arts Center in Middle Township. He was also a member of the Stone Harbor American Legion. Mr. Conlin is survived by his wife of 52 years, Martha (Price) Conlin; his son, Jeffrey P. Conlin and wife Dori of Cape May Court House; his daughter Andrea Clare O'Hearn and husband William of Barrington, RI; his sister Clare Harrison King of Florida; and his six grandchildren, Benjamin, Peter, Reilly, Cory, Tyler, and William. A Memorial Service for Jim will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, 9910 Third Avenue, Stone Harbor, NJ. Interment will be private.
