Notes for Florence WAY
Florence Way March of Downingtown Florence Way March, 86, of Downingtown, passed away on Feb. 17, 2013, at St. Martha Manor. Born in 1926 in Downingtown, Florence was the daughter of Helen (Parker) and Charles Way, both deceased. She attended Downingtown schools and lived in the area her entire life. Following graduation, Florence worked as a stenographer for the IRS in Philadelphia. After several years, she accepted a position with Lukens Steel in Coatesville and worked in the Coatesville office. In 1953, she married Robert (Rabbit) March and they lived in the Coatesville area. Robert March passed away in 1989, after 36 years of marriage. Florence was active in the Purple Heart Auxiliary, serving as secretary/treasurer. She was also an active volunteer in the Meals on Wheels program, delivering meals in the Coatesville area. Florence is survived by a cousin, Mildred Good of Pitman, N.J.
