Notes for Cullis Young Jr. GEORGE
Cullis Y. George, Jr., age 82, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4, 2009, surrounded by his family.
Born in Fair Hill, MD, on January 20, 1927, he was the son of the late Cullis, Sr. and Frances Logan George.
Mr. George retired from Chrysler Corporation Mopar Parts Depot, Newark, DE, in 1987 after 39 years of service.
He was an avid softball player, coach, bowler and camper. For 18 years he enjoyed winter vacations in Florida.
In addition to his parents, Mr. George was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Brackin; and daughter, Denise George Broderdorp.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Margaret Carroll George; sisters, Anna Hensley and Cyrilla Kay Sturgill; sons, Edwin Y. George and wife, Carol, Beverly Hills, FL, and Kenneth Y. George and wife, Michele, New Castle, DE; son-in-law, Bill Broderdorp, Newark, DE; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD, with interment in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.
