Notes for Elwood JOHNSON
FRANKFORD - Elwood H. Johnson of Frankford, formerly of Wilmington, died Thursday, March 22, 2007, in his home.
Mr. Johnson was born in Houston, son of the late, Dorsey and Anna Johnson.
He attended the Dagsboro Church of Christ.
He was a retired hardware salesman.
Mr. Johnson loved being outdoors, splitting wood, taking care of lawns and was a jack-of-all-trades.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Margaret J. Johnson on Feb. 19, 2007, and two grandsons, Harvey B. Longacre III and Robert Longacre.
He is survived by three children, Margaret Louise Longacre, Ronald E. Johnson Sr., Nancy M. Orledge; 12 grandchildren, Margaret Dianne Longacre, Charles Longacre, Paul Longacre, Rebecca Jones, Anna Catherine Hood, Patricia Sooy, Ronald E. Johnson Jr., Richard Johnson, Virginia Johnson, Wendy Sullivan, Annette Gordon, Tamara Robbins; 31 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; and a close family friend, Dean Hall.
A graveside service was in Gracelawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
