Notes for Joseph Howard SEEDS

Joseph Howard Seeds Sr., 87, of Ephrata, formerly of Swinehart Road, Downingtown, passed away on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at his home, following an illness.
He was born on Oct. 3, 1925, in Caln Township, Chester County.
He was the son of the late Joseph A. and Maude (Lewis) Seeds.
Joseph was the husband of the late Dorothy (Barnes) Seeds, who died on May 23, 1995.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving on a merchant destroyer in the Mediterranean Sea.
Joseph worked at the former Downingtown Iron Works and National Foam of West Chester. He was an electrician by trade, working with his father for several years. Joseph also owned and operated the Cross Country Cycle of West Brandywine for several years, before retiring and moving to Ephrata.
He was a member of the VFW 845 and the Loyal Order of Moose, both of Downingtown; and the American Legion Post 170 of Coaldale, Pa.
A son, Joey Seeds; a brother, Raymond Seeds; and two sisters, Catherine Seeds and Ruth Leslie, preceded Joseph in death.
He is survived by his companion of several years, Helen Barr of Ephrata; two daughters, Joanie, wife of Michael Hartz, and Janet Seeds, both of Honey Brook; a brother, John, husband of Marian Seeds of Montana; three grandchildren, Jodi Lynn, wife of Mark Blackwell of Lititz, Rodney, husband of Chris Wagner of Coatesville, and Putter, husband of Jessie Beggs of Philadelphia. There are also two great-grandchildren, Garrett Wagner and Kaitlyn Hoffman; and several nieces and nephews.
A private service and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
