Remembering Walter F. Coates Walter F. Coates, 95 yrs, of Birdsboro, formerly of Honey Brook & Morgantown, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Harrison House Nursing Center, following a long illness.He was born on June 3, 1917 in Coatesville, Pa. Walter was the son of Cyrus Warren and Nettie (Maitland) Coates. He was the husband of the late Isabel E. (Reynolds) Coates, who died on April 24, 2001.Walter worked for over 45 years at the Lukens Steel Company of Coatesville. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pequea and the Lukens Veterans Guild.He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty.Walter is survived by 3 sons, Wayne A. Coates of Honey Brook, Barry M. Coates of Gap and Robert L. Coates of Downingtown; a daughter, Denise M. Daniels of New Holland; and a sister, Dorothy Kuhn of Coatesville. There are also 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, November 15, 2012 from the Pequea Baptist Cemetery, with Pastor Al Stoltzfus officiating. There will be no viewing or funeral home service.
