Notes for Lewis Obed FORWOOD

FREDERICA - Lewis O. Forwood Sr., of Frederica, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 81.

Mr. Forwood was a steelworker for over 25 years for the Bishop Tube Co. He worked in the hypodermic tubing department as a utility machinist.

He designed and invented a machine there that was used to straighten the hypodermic tubing.

Mr. Forwood was a gifted inventor and excelled at making things. He built and designed model airplanes from scratch, and he loved to tinker on old engines. He could fix anything. His interests included salt and fresh water fishing, cross stitch, playing games, auto mechanics, football, baseball, hockey, and NASCAR. His favorite way to relax was listening to old time country music. He enjoyed going to antique auctions, antique tractor shows and parades, and collecting eagles and santas.

He was a very jovial and cheerful person who was generous to a fault. He had a kind heart, and his favorite quote when asked him how he was, "I'm mean, miserable, rotten and nasty," but was always said with a smile on his face.

Mr. Forwood belonged to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
