Notes for Isaac PENNINGTON

The funeral of Isaac Pennington, a life-long resident of Delaware County, was held yesterday afternoon from the Quinby Funeral Home, 206 South Orange Streen, Media.
Rev. W.E. Preston Haas, Jr., pastor of the Lima Methodist Church, officiated. He was assisted by Rev. Charles Daniel Brodhead, D.D., minister at the First Methodist Church of Medai.
There were many friends, relatives and old neighbors in attendance.
Interment was in Cumberland Cemetery. The casket bearers were Isaac C. Pennington, Edgar J. Pennington, Frank W. Pennington, Harper Habbersett, George Graham and Franklin L. Raezer.
Mr. Pennington was born in Bethel Township 83 years ago, a son of the late Isaac and Mary Pennington. His education was received in the Bethel public schools.
He learned the trade of blacksmith with the late Ambrose Ottey, at Booths Corner.
On December 5, 1884, he married Sara Jane Pierce, who died 13 years ago.
In 1892, Mr. Pennington took up his residence in Middletown township, where he owned and operated a blacksmith shop, until 1906.
His survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Florence Pennington Hallman and Mrs. L. Belle Wood, of Media; two sons, Mrs. Robert E. Parker of Media; Isaac C. of Ardmore, and Edgar J., of Lima; five grandchildren, Mrs. Beatrice Wood Kirby, of State Road, North Media; Mrs. Glen Gibson, of Germantown; Franklin Pennington and Jane Pennington, of Ardmore; and three great-grandchildren, Harvey Kirby and Barbara Kirby, of North Media, and Gregory Gibson, of Germantown.
