Notes for Edward Buchanan CASSATT

Went to Harvard, appointed to West Point by President Cleveland on June 15, 1889. He graduated from West Point as a Second Lieutenant June 12, 1893 with honors, and was assigned to the 4th Cavalry then stationed at Fort Walla, Walla, Washington. Later he returned to the military academy as an instructor in French and Spanish, remaining there until the outbreak of the Spanish-American War, when he was appointed a Captain of Volunteers and attached to the staff of the late General Guy V. Henry.
