Levis R. 'Reds' Tompkins of West Chester Levis R. "Reds" Tompkins of West Chester, died Monday September 26, 2011 at Neighborhood Hospice Inpatient Unit in West Chester. He was the husband of Ann R. Nahaj Tompkins, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late William Tompkins and the late Clara Robinson Tompkins. Levis worked as a proof reader for Denny Reyburn Company in West Chester and retired after 38 years of service. He was a 1938 graduate of West Chester High School. Levis served in the Army during WWII and was honorably discharged. He was a lifetime member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge #853 of West Chester where he served as Past Secretary for many years, was Past Exalted Ruler and Past District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler for the Southeast District of PA from 1981-1982. Levis was also a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #134 in West Chester. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Diane M. Tompkins of West Chester and siblings, Mary Tompkins and Allan Tompkins, both of West Chester. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service, 10 a.m., Monday, October 3, 2011 at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 North Church Street, West Chester, 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com. Interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester.
