Notes for Betty L. MILLMAN
Betty L. Speakman (Millman) passed away on July 29, 2016. Born in Havre de Grace, MD she was the daughter of the late Willard and Helen (Butcher) Millman. Betty graduated from Wilmington High School where she was a cheerleader. She spent most of her life as a homemaker raising her nine children. She was a parishioner of Corpus Christi R.C. Church since 1950 and past president of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality. She was also a charter member of the DE Chapter of Catholic Daughters of America.
Betty enjoyed the time she spent during frequent visits from her children especially her little great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack, her sons Steve, Randy, Bob, her daughter Tina, her grandson Gregory, and her great-grandson Brayden. She is survived by her children Jack (Marie), Tom (Billie), Judy Shaw (Mark), Kathy Walsh (Pat), Karen, 11 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her elder brother Aldred of Chico CA.
A viewing will be held on Thursday August 4th from 9:30-11:00 am at Corpus Christi R.C. Church, 901 New Rd., Elsmere, DE 1905, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, 1703 West 10th Street, Wilmington, DE 19805.
