Notes for Elsie May SKINTER

Elsie S. Skinter King, 72, of Upper Providence, died Sept. 26 at home.
Born in the Lenni Heights section of Middletown, she graduated from Media High School in 1954 and worked for G.D. Houtman & Son before becoming a full-time mother and homemaker.
Mrs. King was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Media for many years and served as a choir mother. She always volunteered and supported all of the activities that her children were involved with, including ballet, gymnastics, baseball, football, band, Twirlettes of Aston, piano, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.
Mrs. King was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was honored as the chapter Valentine Queen in 1971.
She was known as a positive, happy, kind and generous person who loved the simple things in life. Her most important lesson was to be nice to people and, in turn, they will be nice to you.
Mrs. King resided in the Media area for more than 60 years and was married to Robert A. King from 1956-1976.
She enjoyed reading, puzzles, holidays, the beach, collecting bells and angels, her dogs, roses and the color pink. Above all, she was a loving sister, friend, mother and grandmother who cherished the time she spent with those she loved.
Mrs. King was the daughter of the late Tom and Elsie Tribbett Skinter. She was the sister of Charlotte "Sissy" Barrall and Thomas Skinter.
Survivors: Daughters Cynthia K. Aigeltinger of Landenberg, Sharon L. Blyler of Daytona Beach, Fla.; son, Robert A. King Jr. of Morton; sister, Sandra Smyth of Newark Del.; caregiver, Mary Logan of Media; two granddaughters; many cousins; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday, First United Methodist Church of Media. 350 W. State St., Media.
Visitation: 9-9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Burial: Media Cemetery.
