Wesley Carter "Bud" Wilkins III, 96 Of Media, Pa. Wesley Carter "Bud" Wilkins III, 96, passed away on February 16, 2011 at Crozer Chester Medical Center while in the care of Crozer Keystone Hospice. He was born in Media, PA to Wesley and Hannah Wilkins where he was raised and educated. He, likewise, spent his entire married life of 69 years as a resident of Media. Family was the center and most important part of Bud's life. He sacrificed his entire life for the betterment of his wife and children. Getting together for family functions provided the major enjoyment of his life. Bud loved Spring with all the new growth and everything in bloom. He was content sitting on his patio and just enjoying life. He anxiously looked forward to the upcoming Phillies season, but unfortunately will not be able to enjoy it. Bud was a veteran of World War II as a member of the Army Corps of Engineers. He served on the Board of Directors of the Media Little League for several years as Treasurer, Vice President, and Chief of Umpires. He was an active member of Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Church in Media, which he converted to in later life. Up until his death he was still an usher every Sunday at the 9AM Mass. He was an automobile mechanic for his entire working career which lasted until the age of 70. He worked for Lyons Motors in Media which later became Walsh Ford and eventually moved to Lima. Bud finally retired while working for Murphy Ford in Chester. He was pre-deceased by 2 sisters Dorothy and Margaret. Survivors: Wife of 69 years Margaret Carr Wilkins; sons Gerald (Kathleen) of Garnet Valley and Gary (Wendy) of Fortesque, NJ; grandchildren Brett, Todd, Devin, and Shannon; great-grandchildren Evan and Ryan. Funeral Mass: Monday 10 AM in Nativity B.V.M. Church, 30 E. Franklin St., Media, PA 19063. Calling Monday 9 to 9:45 AM in church. Visitation: Sunday evening 6:30 to 8 PM in the J. Nelson Rigby Funeral Home, 1 W. Baltimore Ave., Media, PA 19063. Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Media, PA
