A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 1995, in Columbia View Park in St. Helens.
Mr. Norwood died June 11 at age 86.
He was born Aug. 18, 1908, in Portland.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Norwood owned Rod Norwood and Associates insurance agency in St. Helens for many years.
He also was mayor of St. Helens from 1971 through 1980 and was past president of Professional Insurance Agents, Oregon Association of Mutual Agents and Oregon Mayors Association.
Mr. Norwood was widowed in 1976 by Ruth, his wife of 39 years.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Jane Henderson Norwood; daughters, Linda Johnston of St. Helens, Anne Patterson of Ramona, Calif., and Gail Norwood-Young of Portland; and six grandchildren.
