LYDIA WISTER TUNIS SCOTT, 87, widow of Ernest Scott, former managing partner of the Philadelphia law firm of Pepper, Hamilton & Scheetz, died Tuesday at Upperstream Farm in Berwyn.
Raised in Chestnut Hill, she attended the Shady Hill Country Day School. An accomplished horsewoman, she was an avid fox hunter at Mr. Stewart's Cheshire Fox Hounds and Radnor Hunt Club. She won steeplechase races at both clubs when she was 59 and 61 years old and continued to fox hunt until she was nearly 80.
She was associate chairwoman of the University of Pennsylvania Hospital Antique Show and the Lankenau Antique Auction. She belonged to the Philadelphia Garden Club and was active in its Pocket Park program. She was a member of the Bowman's Hill Wild Flower Preserve in Fort Washington, the Acorn Club and the Church Woman's Club, now defunct.
Survivors: daughters, Annis L. Reeves, Diana S. Oppenlander, Cintra S. Rodgers and Barbara M. Scott; son, David R., 13 grandchildren, and nine great- grandchildren.
Services: memorial, 11 a.m. Friday, St. Peters Church in the Great Valley, St. Peters Church Road, Malvern.
