Notes for Robert W. FETTERS

Robert W. "Bob" Fetters Sr., 91, of Eagle, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at Tel Hai Retirement Community.
He was the devoted husband of the late Margaret R. Frame Fetters, with whom he had shared 62 years of marriage at the time of her passing in 2005.
Born in Tucumcari, N.M., he was the son of the late Roger T. and Sarah L. Hall Fetters.
He was a graduate of Phoenixville High School.
Mr. Fetters was a lifetime member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Chester Springs.
He was a 50-year member of Mt. Pickering Masonic Lodge #446, a Scottish Rite Mason for 55 years and a 50-year member of POSA.
During World War II, he worked at Sunship as a welder.
He owned and operated the first school buses in the Upper Uwchlan School District, and in the mid-1940s owned, operated and lived on the premises of the Black Horse Restaurant in West Vincent.
In his spare time, Bob loved to garden, growing vegetables and caring for his rose bushes.
He is survived by his son, Robert W. Fetters Jr. and wife, Patricia A., of Eagle; granddaughters, Cheryl A. Fetters-Scott of Eagle and Jill I. Buoso and husband, Emanuele, of Chester Springs; great-granddaughters, Abby and Hailey Scott of Eagle and Alessia Buoso of Chester Springs; and by his brother, James S. Fetters and wife, Shirley G., of Glenmoore.
He was predeceased by brothers, Richard G., George E. and Norman; and by sisters, Goldie Currie and Margaret Deery.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 1, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m., and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 2, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 2440 Conestoga Road, Chester Springs.
The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow in the adjacent church cemetery.
