Notes for Harry William Jr. STREEP
Harry Streep, Jr., a retired business executive, died Tuesday, July 22, at his home, 122 Palmer's Hill Road, Stamford.
Mr. Streep was 93 years old and his death was attributed to renal failure.
He was born in Newark, N.J., and spent his childhood there and in Madison, N.J. After graduation from Madison High School, he attended Brown University in Providence, R.I., and Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J.
While he was active in business as an executive of Merck and Company, he and his family resided in Madison, Basking Ridge and Bernardsville, N.J. In 1976, Mr. Streep and his wife, the late Mary W. Streep, retired to Mason's Island, Stonington, Conn., and then they moved to the Stamford address in 1998.
Mr. Streep is survived by two sons, Dana David Streep of New Canaan and Harry Streep, III, of South Nyack, N.Y.; a daughter, Mary L. Gummer (actress Meryl Streep) of Salisbury, Conn., and 10 grandchildren, Jonathan H., David Kyle, Charles H. and Carol Ann Streep, Abraham K. and Maud E. Streep and Henry W., Mary W., Grace J. and Louisa J. Gummer.
Graveside services were held privately in Basking Ridge.
