Notes for Harrold Buckman PARRISH
Harrold B. Parrish, age 75, of Kennett Square, PA, passed away June 25, 2006 at the home of his daughter. He was the husband of Bessie Shew Parrish, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.
Born in West Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Lawrence T. Parrish, Sr. and Eleanor Buckman Parrish. He served in the US Army. A mushroom grower since 1956, Harrold and his brother, Lawrence, owned and operated the Parrish Brothers business, in Kennett Square. He was a birthright Quaker and a member of the New Garden Friends Meeting. Harrold was a member and past president of the American Mushroom Institute, the Kennett Area Jaycees, and a member of the YAG Club. He was a 10-year member of the Kennett Consolidated School Board. His father and grandfather also served on the board, making them the only family with 3 generations serving on the board. Harrold enjoyed playing tennis and fishing, and he and his wife were avid Eagles and Phillies fans.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by, 1 son, Stephen J. Parrish, and his wife, Lisa, of Kennett Square, PA; 1 daughter, Kathryn Parrish Rowan, and her husband, Joe, of Kennett Square, PA; a brother, Lawrence T. Parrish, Jr., and his wife, Hannah, of Kennett Square, PA; and 1 granddaughter, Jillian Parrish Rowan.
Family and friends may call from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at the KUZO & GRIECO FUNERAL HOME, 250 West State St., Kennett Square.
A Memorial Meeting for Worship will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 29, 2006, at New Garden Friends Meeting, 875 Newark & New Garden Rds., Toughkenamon, PA. Interment will be private.
