Notes for William Corttis KILBURN
William Corttis Kilburn, 78, of Jenners Pond, West Grove, PA, passed away on August 3, 2007 from lung cancer. Mr. Kilburn was born in 1929 in Erie, PA, the son of Corttis and Mildred Kilburn. He is survived by his wife, Joan Galvez Kilburn, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Darlington Kilburn in 1975.
Mr. Kilburn attended schools in Lawrence Park, Erie, PA and graduated from Penn State University as a mechanical engineer. He was employed by the General Electric Company and American Safety Razor Company. He resided in Staunton, VA, retired to Oriental, NC in 1991 where he enjoyed his boats and fishing. Bill and Joan moved to Jenners Pond in 2004 where he pursued his interests in woodworking, airplanes, and bee-keeping, and enjoyed the fellowship at Morrie's Pub.
He is survived by his children, David of Virginia Beach, VA; Will and wife Lynn of Charlotte, NC; James and wife Bonnie of Pottstown, PA; Martha of Roanoke, VA; and Carol and husband Brian of Norman, OK. He is also survived by his stepsons, Jose Galvez and wife Mary Virginia of Baltimore, MD; Juan Galvez and wife Debbie of Staunton, VA; and Alexander Galvez and wife Laurel of Danville, VA and 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Survivors also include his brother, Robert and wife Imie of Newton, MA and his sister Janet Blanchfield and husband Robert of Wilmington and numerous nieces and nephews.
