Notes for Ida Elizabeth HOOPES

Married Pusey Cloud February 28, 1911. Friends (Quaker) Marriage ceremony in Parlor of Lawnwold (Ida's parents farm, later became Kendal Retirement Community) in Hamorton, PA. (See picture, farm is now Kendal at Longwood Retirement Community). Marriage License #15559. Best Man was Samuel P. Cloud (Pusey's brother, later was president of First National Bank in West Chester); Maid of Honor was Helen McFarlan (Helen later married Sam Cloud); Ida's sister A. Margaret @@ age 6 was the flower girl; Ellen Merrick played the wedding march.
Honeymoon: train ride to Chicago, visited the stock yards; then onto Grand Rapids MI to visit with Renihan relatives for several days; onto Detroit to see some shows; traveled on train through Canada; Niagara Falls, shredded wheat factory, saw shows & took pictures; spent day in Buffalo; and returned to Philadelphia (mentioned in Ida (Hoopes) Cloud's diary 1/1/1911-3/31/1911).

They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary 2/19/1961 at East Lynn Grange Hall in Kennett Square, PA.
