Notes for Diane Lynn SMITH


Diana "Lynn" Yarnall, age 56, of Middletown, DE, and Dewey Beach, passed away on July 17, 2015, at her residence, surrounded by family.

Lynn was born on September 17, 1958 in Lexington Park, MD; and came to the Wilmington area following her father's discharge from Patuxent River Air Station. She was a proud graduate from Conrad High School in 1976 and in 1980 she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from UD. Lynn worked many years for the City of Newark Alderman's Court as a court clerk. Previously she had worked for New Castle County 911 as a dispatcher.

Lynn enjoyed relaxing on the beach in Dewey every summer. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and her animals, especially her dog, Summer. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and a dear friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Smith; and grandparents John and Helen Best. Lynn is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Wayne M. Yarnall; daughters, Brooke, Kylie and Amanda Yarnall; mother and stepfather, Judy and Frank Quay; sisters, Stacey Stoltzfus (Matt) and Molley Crist (Jamie); granddaughters, Payton, Avery and Harlee.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm on Monday, July 27, 2015 at The Granary, 100 George Street, Georgetown, MD 21930. At the family's request, please dress casual.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to their DPL Family, the Conrad Girls, everyone from Delaware Hospice, especially Erica, and her best friend, Debbie Terrell.
