Notes for Clyde Edwin Jr. PYLE

Clyde Edwin "Bucky" Pyle, 67, of Exton, died Sept. 19, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Pyle resided in Chester County most of his life. He was born in West Grove to Mary Hendrickson Pyle of Villas, N.J., and the late Clyde Edwin Pyle Sr., and grew up in Oxford.
He was a 1959 graduate of Oxford Area High School, and attended Lincoln University from 1959-1962.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962-1966, attaining the rank of staff sergeant upon honorable discharge and was a recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal.
During his service at Torrején AFB in Madrid, Spain, he met and married Maria Concepcién Machacon.
Most of Mr. Pyle's employment was in the trucking industry over a period of 30 years, first with the Budd Co., and then as fleet manager of Herr Foods Inc. of Nottingham.
Mr. Pyle was an inveterate pinochle player (and card counter), a long-suffering Philadelphia sports fan and he enjoyed deep-sea fishing and travel.
He was an avid golfer and a longtime member of Coatesville Country Club.
In addition to his mother and his wife of 45 years, Mr. Pyle is survived by three children, Elizabeth Randby and husband Scott of Richboro; Joseph Pyle and wife Tara of Troy, N.Y.; and John Pyle and wife Gretchen of Minneapolis, Minn. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Christopher, Thomas, Evan, Brett, Alexander, and Willa; as well as his two brothers, Robert of Quarryville and James of Rising Sun, Md.
He was well-loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Sept. 22, from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Interment will be private.
