Emory. On Monday afternoon, January 22, 1900 at her residence in this city, 1718 H street, Matilda Wilkins, widow of the late General William Hemsley Emory, U.S. Army. Funeral services will be held at St. John's Church, Wednesday, January 24 at 10 o'clock a.m.

Funeral of Mrs. Emory
The funeral of the late Mrs. Matilda Bache Emory took place from St. John's Church at 10 'clock this morning and was largely attended. The lamented lady, who was such a conspicuous figure in Washington society for so many years was the great granddaughter of Benjamin Franklin, granddaughter of Alexander J. Dallas, Secretary of the Treasury and Secretary of War, 1814-1816 and niece of Vice President George M. Dallas, who was at one time minister to the court of St. James. She was also the sister of the distinguished savant, Prof. Alexander Dallas Bache.
Daughter of Richard and Sophia Dallas Bache.
