LEAD: Katherine Revell Reynolds Carpenter, a producer of television documentaries, and Peter Martin Schulte, an investment banker, both in New York, were married yesterday in Greenville, Del. The Rev. Adam Lewis officiated at Christ Episcopal Church. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Charles H. Thieriot of Locust Valley, L.I., and Edmund N. Katherine Revell Reynolds Carpenter, a producer of television documentaries, and Peter Martin Schulte, an investment banker, both in New York, were married yesterday in Greenville, Del. The Rev. Adam Lewis officiated at Christ Episcopal Church. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Charles H. Thieriot of Locust Valley, L.I., and Edmund N. Carpenter 2d of Wilmington, Del. Her husband is the son of Sarah E. Schulte of New York and Venice and Anthony M. Schulte of New York.
Mary Carpenter Zagorin was her sister's matron of honor. Peter A. B. Melhado was the best man.
Mrs. Schulte, 31 years old, is the president of New Atlantic Productions and the senior producer of the Arts and Entertainment historical series ''The Eagle and the Bear.'' She graduated from Miss Porter's School and Princeton University. Her father is a senior member of the Wilmington law firm of Richards, Layton & Finger. She is a granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. T. Clarkson Taylor of Palm Beach, Fla., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter S. Carpenter Jr. of Wilmington; Mr. Carpenter was a president and chairman of the Du Pont Company.
Mr. Schulte, 32, a graduate of Deerfield Academy and Harvard University, is a vice president of Salomon Brothers. He received a master's degree in public and private management from Yale University.
His mother is an artist, and his father, a former executive vice president of Random House, is an executive vice president of Veronis, Suhler & Associates, investment bankers in New York.
Mr. Schulte is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur D. Schulte of New York, Greenwich, Conn., and Palm Beach. His grandfather was a partner in Lehman Brothers in New York.
