Theresa C. Sheppard July 21, 1926 - October 5, 2015 Dacula, GA- Theresa C. Sheppard, 88, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2014, at Heaven's Garden Senior Care in Dacula, GA. Theresa was a resident of Dacula for four years, after living in Columbus since 1986. She was born on July 21, 1926 to Clementine Seaver Townsend and Joseph R. Townsend, Sr. Theresa had four sisters and one brother, two of her sisters are predeceased, the late Sister Mary Anne Townsend and Jeanne E. Alenovitz. The prayer vigil and visitation will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, October 8, 2014. The Funeral Mass will be conducted at St. Anne Catholic Church at 2000 Kay Circle at 11 AM on Thursday, October 9, 2014 with burial following at Parkhill Cemetery. Theresa graduated from Villa Maria Academy and Immaculata College. On September 17, 1949, she married Francis J. (Frank) Sheppard, Sr. who predeceased her in 1987. She is survived by eight children, daughters Kathy Gierer (Larry), Susan Sheppard, Barbara Dalmut (the late Pete Dalmut), Carol Donovan (Jack), Terry Wayne (Michael), Mary Anne Barbee (Jim), Joan Sheppard and Frank Sheppard (Peggy); her sisters, Charlotte F. Hoffner and Elaine A. Scherr; her brother, Joseph R. Townsend, Jr. Theresa delighted in her 19 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren: Grandchildren Reese and Lindsey Gierer; Kevin, Meg, Beth and Theresa Dalmut; Chris Donovan (Katie), Karen Neff (Brandon), Jenny and Becca Donovan; Kimberly Wayne and Sarah Glynn; Allison Lalla (Jake), Stephen Barbee (Sara), Joanne Snow (David), Phillip and Laura Barbee; Matt and Taylor Anne Roden; Great-grandchildren Jacob and Alex Donovan, Aspen and Nola Glynn, Parker Lalla and Bryce Neff. Flowers will be appreciated, as will donations to Feeding the Valley Food Bank, P.O. Box 8904, Columbus, GA 31908 or the charity of your choice.
